Can you share a bit of your company’s background?
We have established a family business in a village in Drama (northern Greece). We are producing and processing almonds (about 1.300 trees). We aim to start exporting our products to EU countries and increase our Production/capacity with more trees to cover future demands!
Do you have any upcoming products or innovations that you are particularly excited about?
We are developing some innovative products (which still need to be added to the market) and hopefully will be available by the end of next year.
What makes your product different? Why should consumers choose your brand?
Our products are fresh (we sell all of our products every year) and handmade based on customer demands.
How much has technology helped you?
Our commitment to quality is further enhanced by our use of technology in the production process, ensuring that we deliver fresh and quality products to our customers.
Does your product(s) have sustainable and environmentally friendly characteristics?
As a family business, we are deeply committed to environmental sustainability. We use only machines to cut the weeds, and we have established underground droplets. These are some first steps to protect the environment, and we are always trying to ensure that we will have enough waste for our production process.
To what degree has climate change affected your production and business development?
Despite the challenges posed by climate change, we have remained resilient. This year, we faced high temperatures without rain within 3 months, which confused the trees and prevented them from growing normally. However, we adapted and started the harvest almost 2-3 weeks earlier this year. After some quality checks, we noticed that the only ‘impact’ on our products was that the almond size was slightly smaller than the standard size. The taste and quality are still unique and excellent!
